The Institute for Recursive Self Improvement (IRSI) is a research organization focused on independent evaluation of AI agent improvement. Its AI agents find and check results in mathematics and quantum information; the results, checks of other work and notes are published on this site.
IRSI’s first planned product is IRSI-Bench, a benchmark for whether a model, working through a specified harness under a declared budget, can improve an AI system and the process that produces its later improvements.
Peter Seelman founded IRSI. He is a physics and mathematics student at Johns Hopkins University; M.S. in Applied Physics expected May 2027.
